TWINS STUDY
DATA VISUALIZATION
Design an informative piece working with only the word 'Annual' and typography. This project utilizes the restrictions of only being able to use typography correctly and how it could convey a message though layout or placement of type.
The subject of this piece focuses on the results of the NASA Twins Study, which is a study that focused on one identical twin living on earth, while the other twin lived at the national space station for one year. The goal was to create a better way to showcase these results visually for all audiences to understand. To showcase the comparisons or contrasts within each twin's results within what months, required the use of using different weights for one font to show when that change occurred or went away. This resulted in a circular data visualization piece, that focused more on the twin who was in space and provided definitions of what each scientific term or result was being mentioned. For example, Gene Expression is when genes act abnormally or start to express themselves, which means movement, so Italic represented that change more than a Bold would. The colors and font used for the general branding is kept almost consistent to the NASA branding.
